Founded in 1920, Mentor has long had a focus on precession; initially in mechanical components for the electrical and radio industries. This focus on precision has formed a path that lead to product expansion into opto and electromechanical parts for electronics, in particular for the 19″ card frames.

The activity in electronics has led Mentor to develop the current range of market leading opto products including combination light-guide/LED combinations.
