Crimp Snap-In

ERNI Crimp Snap-In D-Sub connectors are available in 9, 15, 25, 37 and 50 pin configurations.

The connectors are manufactured with a solid metal shell, ensuring strain relief and screen transition. A feature of the male connector is the unique lamellar spring dimples that provide for excellent grounding and shielding. The crimp snap-in connector is an ideal fit to the D-Sub cable connector housing series KSG200, securing high EMI/RFI and ESD protection.

The crimp snap-in contacts used with D-Subminiature connectors are designed for wire sizes AWG 20-26 and AWG 24-28. The contacts are packaged in bags of 100 or in contact reels of 500 or 10000 pieces. Contact an ERNI representative about our line of hand or automated assembly equipment.

High Power Solder

The ERNI High Power D-Sub connector is available right angle or vertical, with 3W3, 3WK3, 5W5 and 8W8 pin configurations.

The vertical connectors are designed for a gas-tight, pressfit installation, and are available in two different assembly heights: 6.3 mm and 9.0 mm. The right angle high power D-Sub is available with solder termination. Each connector comes with pre-installed metal hardware.

If an application requires cable termination, ERNI offers an unloaded high power D-Sub housing and 10, 20, 30 and 40 A rated power contacts with solder or crimp termination.

High Power Filter

ERNI offers the High Power Filter D-Sub connector in a vertical male or female version.

The male is available with 3W3 or 3WK3 solder or pressfit termination. The female connector is available with the 3W3 configuration and cable termination. Both the male and female connectors may be ordered with a 47nF or 5nF filter.

The filtered female D-Sub connector is designed to be used with KSG200 cable connector housing, a sheet metal shielded cable housing with excellent EMI/RFI and ESD protection.

IDC Flat Ribbon Cable

ERNI manufactures an IDC flat ribbon cable D-Subminiature connector. The TMC-SK series are designed with the insulation displacement contacts on the termination side of the connector.

The ends cut through the insulation of a flat ribbon cable and create high-pressure contact with the conductors. In a single step, ERNI’s IDC Flat Ribbon Cable D-Sub allows for up to 37 conductors to connect without prior insulation stripping.

ERNI’s IDC Flat Ribbon Cable TMC-SK series D-Subminiature connectors are designed to be used in conjunction with ribbon cable and create a reliable and economic termination for electrical connections.

IDC Discrete Wire

IDC Discrete Wire D-Sub connectors provide for easy and quick termination of stranded or solid discrete wires via an insulation displacement connection (IDC). Recommended wire sizes are AWG 22-26.

The IDC discrete wire D-Sub is available in 9, 15, 25 and 37 pin configurations, male or female. It also is an ideal fit with the D-Sub cable connector housings, KSG200.

ERNI offers a full line of application tooling that allows for partially loaded cable assemblies. Contact an ERNI representative today.

THR Version of Right-angle D-Sub Connector

ERNI provide D-Sub male and female multipoint connectors with THR (Through Hole Reflow) contacts.

The connectors constitute the standard (7.3 mm) and Eurostyle (3.6 mm) designs in Accordance with DIN 41652 and CECC 75301-802. They are offered with 9, 15, 25 or 37 positions. Creepage distance and clearance is specified at 1.2 mm.

A metal mounting bracket reliably relieves the strains that arise through plug-in, removal, and cable handling. The new D-Subs are also available with the familiar locking hardware. The D-Subs are offered without threading, with a nut (M3 or #4-40 UNC), or with a locking bolt (M3 or #4-40 UNC).

The locking hardware is integrated and features anti-rotation protection and ESD- resistant pre-mounting. The layout for the new THR D-Subs is compatible with the press-fit and conventional dip-soldering versions. Depending on the type of automatic assembly used, versions with or without "insertion force" can be selected. Consequently, it is possible to optimize existing assemblies for the inexpensive SMT/THR process.

Right-Angle SMT D-Sub with Power Contacts

The D-sub power connectors are available in the standard mounting height (7.3 mm) in accordance with DIN 41652 and CECC 75301-802. The nominal current is specified at 25 A (at 20° C) for the high-current contacts and 5 A (at 20° C) for the signal contacts. Beyond that, the maximum temperature limits for the application and the circuit board´s technical data must be taken into account. The test voltage is rated at 1000 Veff, and creepage distances and clearances are specified at > 1 mm.
